Retouching jewelry photos!!

I am working on shooting some jewelry for a friend who owns a store. I have to say my photoshop skills aren't the best and I haven't figured out the best way to work on my photos so they go from the before to the after look. Anyone have any suggestions??

I think what you did looks pretty good.

I'd deepen the blacks on the metal and add some deeper tones to the diamonds, perhaps with a curve, layer blending mode and/or sharpening.

Could also pull some yellow from the diamonds, and strengthen the gold of the bezel.

I didn't do anything to them. I found the before and after shots on a photo web site and want to emulate it as best I can.
