hey ppl i did some retouching on one of my friends pictures and i'd like to kno what im missing or what did i do too much of....what could i have done to make this picture look better...

If the original files are of the same low quality, there really isn't much more to be done. The subtle lighting changes you did are a great start. Starting with high quality photos of course opens up a lot more options.
