Yep the title worked
Like the shot a lot except
( come on you should of guessed there would be one)

something doesn't quite match up, If i was any good i could tell you excactly but im not.
it could be the angle and size of the knives, The mans eyes are not quite looking at the knives

See what i mean ?

great work though and liked your flikr page too

That's a great concept and almost a great execution. What doesn't work for me is the blurred background in post production. It just doesn't look natural, especially in the right hand region and the head. I think you just need to re shoot it again using a different lens and you'll be OK. The knioves look good to me.

Hope this helps

The knives look blurry compared to the man's hand.
Edit: But it did scare me!

Hi,
i like it, I wish my skills were as good as yours..... but every one has opinion....lol... and there always crevates...

when I first look at the picture... my first thoughts is that the knives are supposidly to go directly at the person , that my assumption, ...! but the "perspective" not quite right.. it looks like like the knives are going instead of directly at the person but to the right of the person!! possibly the shoulder area or somewhere around the upper arm..!! and of course when you look at his eyes .. it then appears there not looking at the knives . but something straight ahead or behind the knives...

The perspective on the knives is off just a little. Other than that, I like what you have done with the concept.

Nice choice in knives - looks like Henckels..

I like the photo, good concept...... Only one knife is headed to him but no chance to dodge as the other will get him

the slight blur adds to dynamics of the shot no need to reshoot........

I agree about the knives...just a slight tweak to the perspective should do it. The blurred background works great since this is a sort of "stylized realism" concept...maybe just knock the effect down just a couple clicks..other than that good stuff.

Re: Serious Rug Burn with Bat soup! Photo Opinions

Thanks to all. Since the Knifes were shot after the reaction it was hard to get the perspective right. I taped black straws to the knifes and had people hold them up while standing on chairs. the only way I suppose I could have gotten the perspective correct was to run fishing line or string from the knifes to a stand where shawn (the man in the picture) was standing. perhaps if I try something like this again I will go more in depth. thanks to all who gave opinions so far

I love your sharpening and great concept. Nice job with three knives - looks good. After you add some more motion blur to the back of them I think it will look fine, maybe slightly darkening the side of the knives facing us (fading the wind effect slightly).

I don't like the blown highlights on his fingertips close to the camera. Because it's the lightest part of the scene against the dark background, it becomes a larger focal point of the composition than I think you intended. I'd try to lower the contrast in the hand and raise the contrast in the face/knives.

Great job and I'm looking to see more creative work from you. This is very very good.

Re: Serious Rug Burn with Bat soup! Photo Opinions

One more thing I noticed on my way out -

The background is too solidly blurred compared to the man. The hand in the back should start to blur, as well as the hand closest to the camera. The doorway behind the fridge should be more blurred than the fridge seeing as the fridge is closer to the camera. Overall, there needs to be a much more even transition between the sharpest and blurriest focal points. You'll need to create a depth mask to do this scene properly.

Nice work! I like it. I'll think about going back into the file and messing around when I get a few minutes.
