Turning a caucasian into arab

I recently shot a Caucasian man dressed up in traditional Arab clothing, and for the picture to be believable, I now need to change the skin color/darkness so that it resembles an Arab looking person's skin.

I tried messing with the hue/saturation sliders but I didn't get good results. How would you guys pull this out ?

Here's the image, completely retouched, now it only needs skin treatment :

Re: Turning a caucasian into arab

Use a Gradient Map: Sample a range of colors from an image that has the skin tones you wish to copy (maybe 6 - 8 different colors). Put these colors, from darkest to lightest, into a gradient map and mask to just affect the skin.

Or see this thread

A real quickie using Hue/Saturation

Re: Turning a caucasian into arab

Thanks Baldy. I've tried the softlight/hue/saturation technique and here's the result. I kind of like it. What I wanted to ask you is how to do the gradient technique ? I've read the post you pointed me to but there was no explanation in it. Thanks, Ljupco
