How to fix misaligned fake eye lashes? Hello everyone, I would please like to know if anyone have any suggestions regarding how to fix misaligned fake eye lashes (photo attached)? I'm not an expert with makeup or eye lashes, so I'm not even sure how it's suppose to look when done properly. But I assume it's not suppose to look like the ones in the attached photo... Thanks, David

Re: How to fix misaligned fake eye lashes? Hopefully you did the lash brushes on their own layers (a layer per lash brush... 4 lashes 4 layers) Making a eyelash brush ( 4 free eyelash pic. included) (Click here) use brush either black or the color of the natural lashes @100% opacity (to be adjusted later) on a new softlight layer then use the transform tool to move and shape the brush to the eye. OR Use the "freeform pen tool" to draw your own lashes (click here) . Drawing on a new softlight layer (only one layer needed this time)

Re: How to fix misaligned fake eye lashes? Thanks for the links, but the fake eye lashes were put on by the makeup artist... Is this savable? Are there methods to lessen the damage? I'll be sure to go digital next time and just paint them on.

Re: How to fix misaligned fake eye lashes? Dear Davidpz888... Holy crap. That's way off. Surprised she was willing to go in front of the camera looking like that. You're not going to be able to dodge and burn your way around that or even stamp your way out of it (although you might be able to hide it in really dark eye shadow). This is probably a case where you going to have to do a lot of extra work to eliminate the fake eyelashes and start over. So you're basically going to create a bare eyelid and then add in new eyeliner and lashes. You would have been better of not having any eye makeup at all. This is an example of where a the lack of a good makeup artist creates a whole lot of extra work for the retoucher. Hope you are doing well. Take care. Alan.

Re: How to fix misaligned fake eye lashes? Rather than cloning, etc.. I would probably find an eye like this one found using the search phrase, woman eye @ sxc.hu/ and use it

Re: How to fix misaligned fake eye lashes? I got to thinking again about your eyelash problem. This is down and dirty, but it might work if you're image isn't going to be used large or need to undergo any kind of close inspection. If you darken the shine on the eyelid, then the line from the false eyelash can be interpreted as the fold in the skin. You're basically hiding the problem in shadow. You might need to do a bit more work to extend some of the lashes down, but it would hide the shining gap between the real lashes and the fake ones. As I said, it is down and dirty. It's not going to pass close inspection. Hope you are doing well. Take care. Alan.

Re: How to fix misaligned fake eye lashes? Thank you everyone for the suggestions, I really appreciate it! I took in everyone's advice and realized I should look to see if there are any "better" eyes from the other frames that I shot. Although the eyelashes seemed to have been misaligned for the entire shoot, I found one where the eyelashes are more hidden in the folds of the eye lid. I copied that eye over and did some scaling and masking and ended up with the attached photo. What do you guys think? Alan, should I darken the eyelid a bit more and extend the fake eye lashes down? Thanks again, David

Re: How to fix misaligned fake eye lashes? Dear davidpz888... This one's a lot better. I would darken the lid to help conceal the gap and extend the few lashes that have a gap. Then it will just look like she's wearing heavy eyeliner. Don't know what you'll have to do to the other eye to make them look right together. Good luck and let us see the final results. Hope you are doing well. Take care. Alan.

Re: How to fix misaligned fake eye lashes? Thanks for the advice Alan, I really appreciate it! But I ended up leaving it as is because I couldn't make it look realistic. Cheers, David
