Can someone help remove the shadows between us

Im giving this picture to mum for christmas but i cant seem to get rid of the shadows between us or in my hair - can anyone help me??

You could just paint over the shadow.

If you use Photoshop you can post fairly large pictures which are under 100k using the 'save for web' function in Photoshop as described here:

Looks like you are using CS3 so the extract tool should work fine (on a copied layer, use a small brush and split your subject and the background while going all the way around your subjects, )... then replace the background with a new one
