Give me your Honest opinion...

Hi all, Im new to Photoshop and photography so I would like your honest opinions please. this is a before and after of a friends daughter that wanted me to shoot a senior picture for her. they are sized way down to fit on here. this is a crop of her retouched and background changed.

Over all I'd say decent job. Thinning her face, removing the bags, softening the skin and removing blemishes was done good. You did take out most of the texture of her skin so it looks very obviously retouched. I think the hair was alittle too blurred out around the top of her head. it also seems like you used the black to ease the workload of making the image believable with i think draining some of the color from the original wardrobe and background and ramping the up the blue channel could work also. However, I do like the dark feel. Good job! the more you retouch the better you get.

thank you. I cant figure out why on my pc the colors look ok, but when I look at them on other pc's they look dark. I wonder if my lcd is to old. I have had it for a while now.

The problem you experience with colors is that your monitor needs to be calibrated. This will not ensure that your image will look good in other monitors, because the other monitor also needs to be calibrated, but at least, you will be sure that's not your monitor the problem.

About the pictrue, is too dark and there are patchs of color all around the skin, which is also too smoothed (you need to recover some of texture). Also, there are patchs of lights messing the image that needs to be a bit more soft. The hair needs a bit of detail as well the eyes. Also, the wrinkles in the neck can be erased a bit. The rest of the job looks nice.
