Re: Critique my retouch

Hi. It looks good.

I find the background too bright. I think the image needs contrast, but at the moment there is a little too much. Maybe you could enhance the colours she is wearing, make her stand out from that strong background.

nice image

Re: Critique my retouch

I can't decide on whether I like the contrast or not, but my eye keeps going to that saturated patch of green tree at the top left. It's certainly an interesting retouch, and I like how the entire image is so bright and then her dark hair being so dark, but I'm unsure if it's the best look(IMO) for this image.

Re: Critique my retouch

why does everyone leave the saturated green on the top left?

you need to brighten up the neck too (it's too much in the shadows)

evas, how's the snow today? I hear that "ima dve pedi sniag"

Re: Critique my retouch

unfortunately I'm only occasionally there for a month or two during the summers.

I love shooting the architecture in Sofia, the old buildings and the sculptures are everywhere.

Re: Critique my retouch

IMHO I can't really critique this as the images are too small to see the detail. It looks like a few adjustments were make to brightness and contrast which really doesn't count as a retouch but more of the prerequisite to the retouch.

The original image could of used some soft of lighting or bounced natural light to help balance the exposure between subject and background. Photoshop can do wonders but its no substitute for a well shot and lit raw image.

A walmart sun reflector, the one that you use for the car windshield works great for a collapsible portable and multi purpose photography reflector. Its also good for what it was intended for when your not shooting with it.

And thats my 2 cents

Michael
