Just for fun 4

Latest and greatest. This is a pic of my friend, i extracted him out, turned him into a zombie, then placed him in an image of my livingroom that i painted with light.

C&C are ALWAYS welcome. I diddnt get a single reply on "Just for fun 3" so maybe ill do better this time.

hope you enjoy.

Re: Just for fun 4

Thought I'd return the favour

LMAO no-one ever makes ME a zombie!

As a JFF it's fine, if I was getting overly picky I'd say he's a little too low in frame, the wideangle background doesn't quite gel. I'd use a colour balance layer on the BG and increase some greens and blues, take out some reds and overall saturation and reduce contrast on the BG too. You probably know about the colour cast on the hair, that could be sorted with a clipping layer if you felt it mattered but like I said as a JFF it's cool.

Re: Just for fun 4

The perspective is a bit messy, he's far too low.
Besides you should watch out and use the same focal length for your images to composite, the wide angle shot in the background doesn't fit with the distortion of the model.

The fringing in the hair is easy to fix, just duplicate the model, set the lower layer to "Multiply" mode and contract the mask of the upper layer in the hair region, that should do the trick.

Funny idea tho, I guess the picture really forced that zombie-look because of the look in his eyes, the open mouth and the tousles hair - shot after a long night ;-)?

Your chair is in front of the refrigerator. How you gonna open it? The lighting seems to be focusing on everything but the main character. How're you gonna see him?

I really do like the cock-eyed perspective. Seems to fit in with the theme. I like the sort of patchy coloring on his face. With the cheek wound, dead lips, etc, the neck looks almost pristine. Why not add a rope or something?

Looks like it was fun doing it.

Re: Just for fun 4

It was fun. Thanks for all the critiques, this weekend ill see about applying them and how they work out.

the background was done a while back one night when i was bored. I just set my camera on the tripod with a wide angle lens and hit the shutter release while the room was pitch black, i used a flashlight with a few gels and sort of painted the room up with light. i never really had any plans to do anything with the BG as it was just an exercise in long term exposures with a flashlight, but i figured it would work well with the image of my buddy

after all the work on making him look less zombie-ish (lol) i threw him in the background, it was pretty haphazard, im still learning on this stuff, but all in all it was a fun image to make.

thanks for the critiques, ill apply the variouss reccommendations and post the final result here this weekend.
