LOL You guys are so funny with all your conspiracy theories. Yes, you're right. I'm a hack, with my fishy tactics. No one knows who I am, and therefore certainly no one should think I have anything valuable to teach.

I really need to thank everyone who has posted in this thread, though. Because of your brilliant feedback, I have now revised some of the lessons and made the series even better than it was before. I've also beta-tested the series with photographers who I've never met, just to insure I wasn't buying into my own hype.

For the record, before one month ago, I had never met or spoken to GameDoneChanged, LadyDae, MissPimpPrincess, or any of the other people you are claiming are my insider "friends." But now, thanks to you all and your wonderful publicity (this thread currently ranks #4 on a Google search of my name, after my own website and Kim Kardashian's site, and our ad is probably right at the top of this page at this very moment), I've become friends with not only these members, but literally hundreds of others who have reached out to me either here or via the Slickforce forum, saying they want to take their skills to the next level.

Today, as I look at the pre-order list, I am moved, honored, and, above all, humbled, because I know that those of you who have made the decision to purchase my series could have done MANY other things with your money, especially in an economy as bad as this one, but instead you chose to invest in your careers, and believed I could help you in some way.

To you, I say this: I will not let you down. The product will speak for itself, and so will many of the reviews, though one thing this forum has taught me is that many people are intent on judging a product without ever giving it a shot (or even waiting for what others had to say.) So I also expect some negative reviews, but I assure you, they will be from those who haven't watched the series in full, or followed along and actually practiced the techniques with the provided images, as I suggest. Remember that I've trained retouchers for years in $3500-a-pop one-on-one classes, and this series has simply captured those lessons and packaged them for a wider audience. So since I've never had a retoucher NOT learn from my classes, it's theoretically IMPOSSIBLE for you not to learn how to retouch from the Mastering Retouching series.

I will teach you everything I know about retouching in under six hours, and because of the input I have received here, I have just this week added lessons on retouching extreme close-ups, harsh sunlight, removing jewelry through hair, and I even retouch a photo that I didn't take, just to prove this stuff will work on ANYONE's photography.

Those of you who have reached out to me already know that I respond to every e-mail and PM, and I will answer any question you have about the series before you buy it. Those of you who follow me on my forum and Twitter know that I publicly post my lighting setups, which photographer's can't believe I do. I have nothing to hide.

And finally, to those who have continually harped on the price, which I did drop after reading your comments, there is one big reason I have kept the price where it currently is: I don't want everyone to know this stuff, and neither should you. I have made a living for 5 years as a retoucher and a photographer, and I have many high-profile clients that stick with me in part because of my retouching knowledge. You shouldn't want every photographer and retoucher to have these skills, because you would lose your competitive edge. I want you to use this new knowledge to go out and make your own money, raise your rates, and attract more clients than you've every dreamed. Though many will buy this series, remember that many more will not. THIS IS GOOD. This product is not meant for everyone. In fact, I secretly hope that everyone will buy this series and then NEVER watch it, because then my skills, which I've spent years perfecting, will continue to remain rare and unique.

But if you have purchased Mastering Retouching, and actually plan on learning from it, then this product was made specifically FOR YOU. And because your purchase comes with FREE updates, PLEASE give me your honest notes and feedback, so that I can incorporate them into future revisions of the series, which you will receive at no charge. I would also like to feature some of your comments in our testimonials, so please PM me or e-mail me at feedback@slickforce.com with your thoughts.

Thank you all again, for this has truly been an enlightening and invaluable experience, and I'm so happy to have gotten to know a great many of you. As I mentioned in a previous post, a portion of the proceeds from my series are going to fight sexual abuse and child sex trafficking worldwide. Every single member that has posted in this thread has helped me contribute to that cause and assisted me in building a better company. Nothing will make me happier than the opportunity to return the favor.

Love to beat the dead horse... So here we go again with a baseball bat.

Very interesting point of view, but I doubt your clients are with you because of just knowledge alone. The application of that knowledge is what sets you apart from your competition. Anyone can learn photography but not everyone is successful at it. Is it that there are "trade secrets" out there that the pro's don't want you to know? LOL

I congratulate you if you have the success you're mentioning on your DVD more power to you.

Just remember that even though marketing terms do work, you'll be seen in a "fishy" light to some people because of it.
But hell if your intent was to make money I'm very doubtful you really care if the light you're getting is "fishy" or not....

I don't see anything pornesque and hot women always sell a lot (not my case) and the site looks good. I think the demo video should be better, even if I found that video interesting to try, but some more videos about the cool stuff should be nice to watch. I personally would buy every single DVD, doesn't matter the price, I just want learn at any cost, but I don't have the money.

I agree... another pair of videos will make a difference to future buyers on the site.

Re: Mastering Retouching DVD by Nick Saglimbeni.

Nick, it's a pity you've been put on the defensive and feel the need to defend your integrity.

On the other hand, what people have been asking for is a deeper explanation of what your series entails in the form of a detailed outline, additional video samples, or a non-biased review by a familiar face around here. None of that has been provided.

In the end, I don't think people really care that much about your character and integrity as an individual, they want to know about the character and integrity of your DVD series, to know if it will provide good value to them. It's not really about promises and intentions, it's about what on the DVD's.

Re: Mastering Retouching DVD by Nick Saglimbeni.

I might be getting the download version a day early (as I was one of the first to pre order) so I will be able give an unbiased review. Of course there may well be others here who purchased it also and will give their own reviews.

btw not sure how many are aware but Nick offered an early pre release copy to Doug but he refused so it's not like Nick is trying to keep things hush as a prelude to a scam.

Game, I look forward to your review.

Listen, the rhetoric is way too inflated (scam, fishy, etc) and I don't want to reread the thread to see where it all started, but it should never have happened. It's all about getting information to assess value. Anything else is way over the top.

Game, I think Doug would be in a conflict of interest if he accepted to review Nick's product - see the attachment. I look forward to your review.

Todd, your comments are spot on. Personal attacks, product endorsements, or denegrating of the offering, are not at all called for, nor are they appropriate. It's all about sufficient information to make an intelligent decision. Until there is enough of it provided, just move on and revisit the offering when it is out there.
Regards, Murray

Re: Mastering Retouching DVD by Nick Saglimbeni.

Well in that case then he could have referred Nick to someone else here like yourself for example. I was only trying to point out that it was offered here on that basis but it looks like he went to the wrong person.

Point taken though.
