| This drive me nuts!! Dodge and Burn problem. Iv'e seen it asked here before but I can't find a solid answer and I want to get to the bottom of this problem so I know how to avoid/correct it. I use two different methods for dodging and burning. Either I create a curves layer, mask it and paint with white, or I create a new layer, set it to soft white, add neutral gray and paint with white to dodge or black to burn. I'm noticing in some areas where I dodge that that pixels begin to turn a neon reddish color or in the case of this 600% crop image, a yellowish tint. I'm trying to understand what is causing this? Setting the curves layer to luminosity mode seems to help but I've heard of other just going in and repainting the pixels which to me is alot of work after I've dodges hundreds of individual pixels. It's very faint in the image below and quite honestly if looked at at normal size you probably wouldn't even notice the tainted pixels but being that I don't want to cut corners i want to make sure that I eliminate this problem. Thanks in advance for any help http://ferradas.smugmug.com/photos/7...1_VxJNb-X3.jpg |

| Re: This drive me nuts!! Dodge and Burn problem. Create a new hue/Sat adj layer. Drag your dodging curve mask (alt+drag/drop)over to the new adj layer mask and replace it. Now everything u do applies only to the pixels you dodged. x |
