Exactly what I was thinking...
My problem was that the Add slick move didn't work in 16bit yesterday evening and at the time of the screenshot post (today) it work again.

Maybe I was really really tired yesterday

What, the blonde hair thing is a secret? Haha... i did it recently for on of those friends who wants to see her in a different hair color and knows you can photoshop. I thought of it as the best way to separate the hair from it's color.
I'm familiar with frequency separation but do you mind elaborating on the steps in this particular application....

Re: Apply Image and WTF?!

Hehe... now THAT's the stuff nobody will tell you about (unlike some DVDs claim). When you level up and colorize dark hair, you end up with crappy texture, because in the dark areas, texture is made up of very dark hairs and slightly darker hairs.

What is the best way we know for separating texture from color? Frequency separation. When you have separated may photos in frequency, and you observe the low freq layer, you realise that there is no texture in it. And on the high freq layer there is just some of it. You can desaturate the high freq layer and that way it will only become... well, texture.

So, basically. You need some painting skills. Separate your photo and you'll have 2 layers. High freq on top of low freq. Create a layer in between, and carefully paint in the color you need with ur wacom tablet and a brush with the necessary parameters. Make sure you pick the right colors. Other thing you can do, is, instead of painting, using a gradient map over the low freq layer to assign new colors to the various original values. Mask out the non hair areas.
