Re: Reverse Engineering : Superclear & Superclean

If the actions significantly speeds up and enhances your workflow then by all means purchase them, otherwise, I will too add that these actions seem a little on the pricey side. Not sure how significate the before/after are for the photos posted (only see the after), but $500 or even $150 is way too high a price to pay imo. But still, one man's trash may be another's treasure. To eaches own.

Re: Reverse Engineering : Superclear & Superclean

the reason i start this thread is to invite seasoned retouchers in this forum to discuss the posible way that blogger's method to achieve the look he's selling.

i don't expect a-z step by step solution.

maybe stuffs like "what has he done to the pics" as in
-compress dynamic range
-increase vibrance not saturation.
-as flexmanta said it, local contrasting.

or what ever.

High pass sharpening (new layer->high pass->overlay blend mode) plus Lab color boost (increasing contrast on the a and b channels) should get you there IMO and then you can write an action yourself and save hundreds.

Re: Reverse Engineering : Superclear & Superclean

I have a firned who bought the Yervant Actions, btw, YERVANT, and those actions really sucks... I warn him not to buy that, but he did it so $200usd thrown to the YERVANT'S trash can... I don't know why people believe that an action will work on every image the same as good as it work in the demo picture. Actions definitely doesn't work, except for mines, which are not for sell XD

Then double click on that highpass layer and move the sliders located at the bottom in order to lower the effect in the highlights/shadows, so the image will not look blown in the specular lights
