I know I'm way too late with this, but here's mine nevertheless.
Thanks for this gorgeous shot, Tony!

WeTransfer.com, as one of many (free!) alternatives, has a max file size of 2GB and is 10 times as fast (without pop-ups).

Amanda, very nice work. And, that it took you 8 hrs I can believe that, it shows.

Re: Would anyone like to practice...

I am ashamed to say how little time I devoted to this image, but I only saw it as a skin challenge and concentrated on that. Didn't do hair or anything else - was rushing off to work on the next couple of images one of which is a hair challenge. But here is my try.

I am new to this site and I am thrilled at how informative it is! I have spent the last hour reading all the posts and looking at everyone's work. Very impressive, but I'm most enthralled with Flexmata! What talent AND dedication to quality. A true master at his profession!

Re: Would anyone like to practice...

Just joined the site today so I'm probably a bit late to this thread. Good opportunity to test a PS action script I've been developing to try and cut down on my retouching time though, so thought I'd give it a shot. Keeping it as real as possible, and hopefully faithful to the photographer's vision. 1hr edit attached:

Re: Would anyone like to practice...

Oh, I'll add one more thing if I may, this time speaking as a photographer. I noticed a few people have been repositioning the head to a more upright position... and I'm not sure why. IMO it looks unnatural. Models should lead into the pose slightly, it gives a much more natural and becoming look. When you speak to someone you know it is natural to lean in. Editing the head to a straighter angle not only removes that personal warmth, it leads to a wooden, almost startled look. It also goes against the photographer's original image - he would have posed the model like that and unless otherwise stated by them that it's something they'd like addressed, as a retoucher I'd leave it alone. My two cents

Re: Would anyone like to practice...

Hi Tony,

Here's a JPeg of my retouch. I spent a lot of time and hopefully it's been worth it. Any comments on my work will be gratefully received.

I am trying to raise my profile, having only recently started working freelance after many years of teaching.

I would like to send you the full resolution file if you could give me an address.

regards

AKMac

Re: Would anyone like to practice...

So I think I am going to give this one a try myself but before I start has anyone had any luck removing the black blob of makeup from the corner of her eye?
