Greg Heisler Look

Hi,

I'm a fan of Greg Heisler portraits. Would you recon it's all done in-camera or afterwards in post processing?

Here's a sample:

Cheers,
Markus

Re: Greg Heisler Look

Nothing is done in camera here, apart from the photo. You start with a color photo and do a proper b&w conversion based on the different hues available in the image. Looks like he likes his reds very dark. These images look like what you would get in the old b&w days when using a blue or green lens filter. So yeah, a good dramatic b&w conversion using the b&w adjustment layer in ps or lightroom/acr/c1, and then there's also creative sharpening and d&b to model light. These photos have no secret, just good taste and proper use of not too complicated techniques.

Hi
I agree flex
I think you can get a lot of this effect by using the blue channel(converting into s/w).
