Re: Need some tips on jewellery retouching

It mostly depends on the quality of product images what to do exactly.
In that genre is all about perspective, shine, contrast, saturation and sparkle. There are several techniques to optimize that. Including adding artificial sparkles and lens flares or glow and so on. Also about to remove any dust, dirt and scratches to absolute perfection.

Do you have examples of the images?

sash_007, Welcome to RetouchPRO

After clicking the 'Search' button at the top of the page, type in "Jewelry retouching" in the box that pops up for a multitude of information like this post

I know you asked for "retouch" BUT Jewelry starts with the Photography! Sooo, To sort of nudge you in the right direction I offer the following:
Shooting it right the first time saves a lot of work later... So concentrate on getting it right in camera first and foremost!

To bring out specular highlights use a point-shaped light sources with your light box like LEDs close to the camera lens.

Many different reflectors of various sizes, curvature, and colors which are strategically placed inside the box/tent are necessary also.

This site ( might help you with the photography.

These resources should help get you started in the right direction... Good Luck!!
