but applying High Pass filtering with Linear Light blending and skin texture with Overlay, some manual highlighting.
I found that applying the D&B masks is quite too complex and also not necessary, because we actually can use the higpass filter result directly with some blending modes.
1 - somewhat grainy for more realism on small images
2 - super lifting formula
It's all merely a matter of realtime adjusting some layers (using Smart Objects and Smart Filters). Original skin stucture can shine thru as much as you want (i.e. on the first image it shines thru, on the second it' slightly inverted to give a complete different illusion).
