Simulate DNG profile change via Photoshop

Hi everyone,

I have a RAW file and applied Adobe's default DNG Profile (via the Camera Calibration panel in Lightroom) and converted it to a PSD file so I can retouch the photo via Photoshop.

After hours of retouching, I now want to apply a custom DNG Profile that I made from a Macbeth Color Checker. However, I'm not able to apply the profile to "already-rendered images" (http://labs.adobe.com/wiki/index.php...hyOnlyEmbedded)

So my question is: Is there any way to simulate the effects of a profile change via Photoshop adjustments (i.e. HUE/SAT adjustments)?

Please feel free to let me know if more clarification is needed.

Thanks,
David

Hey David, I am not sure I know exactly what you are asking. You can download the beta lightroom for free. that done you can load your custom profile and apply it to your .psd.
Hope that helps.

Re: Adjusting Camera Calibration of PSD files

Hey crazyfly1, thanks for the reply. Sorry my question was vague. I already have Lightroom 2.6 and Photoshop CS3 installed.

What I mean is: I have a RAW file and applied Adobe's default DNG Profile (via the Camera Calibration panel in Lightroom) and converted it to a PSD file so I can retouch the photo via Photoshop.

After hours of retouching, I now want to apply a custom DNG Profile that I made from a Macbeth Color Checker. However, I'm not able to apply the profile to "already-rendered images" (http://labs.adobe.com/wiki/index.php...hyOnlyEmbedded)

David

Re: Adjusting Camera Calibration of PSD files

Hi Pixelzombie, the profile that I made is only for the lighting condition that I shot the photo in and it is also not dual illuminant. So for accurate results for you, it's still best to use the default profile provided by Adobe for your camera or to make a custom profile with a color chart under the exact lighting condition you will be shooting in.
