Some of my before/after retouch work..

Here's some of my before/after shots and a link to a really great retoucher, who's a pretty hot chick too xD, who has some tut's on her site which are really helpful and easy to follow..

Hola.
Skin looks blurred on the closeups. Id suggest you get rid of the "blur skin and bring texture back" concept, and start training your eyes, hand and perception to D&B.

I actually don't blur any of my shots at all.. I do a pass with the patch tool taking out all the blemishes and then dodge and burn to get the contours into the faces..

thanks yeah, Rachel has got great skin to begin with so she wasn't too bad to retouch.. and yeah, I just desaturated it a bit that was pretty much it..

Maybe...but it looks like blurred work...so I think you are doing something wrong. Maybe you are using a lot of patch tool, or do not resharp the pores...I don't know....

perhaps, I don't know but I don't resharpen the pores so maybe that's something I'll try..

One thing that kind of quirks me is the shadows from the hoop earring on one girl's face, and the strange hand shadows on the chest of the last guy. They just seem distracting from the overall beauty of your work. Nice colors, though!
