Not very satisfied in my attempt to replace color

Hello friends,
I have been trying to replace the color using photoshop color replacement of this photo http://www.glowfoto.com/static_image.../img5/glowfoto
and so far i came up with this

although not so satisfied
need some thoughts?

You could use curves to do that

Or- Selective color- and/or channel mixer...then curves for shape on Luminosity- although channel mixer should maintain the original shape...

first select white parts, make them white, then select inverse and in hue/saturation make colorize active and play with the slider :-)

ooo- yea that works too- many ways to accomplish this. but yea this looks great.
