Jean, can you please explain what you mean by industrial retouching? Do you mean buildings / structures? Mines and foundaries? Shipping docks? Automobile factories?
Or do you mean retouching of business people?
Regards, Murray

Re: NEWBIE:Best tutorials for industrial rechoung

OK, I understand. They tend to call that High End Retouching and Beauty Retouching.
There are soooo many places it is hard to suggest where to start. So I will offer the following: Check out DVD series 2 at the following link.
http://digitalphotoshopretouching.co...utorials-dvd-2
You will find the RetouchPro Live videos also very useful especially for the price. You can sign up to the email notification list so you will be informed when new one are shown live. Hopefully the archive videos which are avail for rental in Beta mode will be available internationally soon.
Regards, Murray

Free is going to be a bit tough to find really excellent tutorials. If you can afford it at all, I would highly recommend putting down some money for some good for-pay tutorials. The one Murray recommended is excellent, for example.

If you want to go the book route, Photoshop Retouching and Restoration by Katrin Eismann is considered one of the best.

Another good source is just trolling through the forums, such as here and Model Mayhem.

Re: NEWBIE:Best tutorials for industrial rechoung

JPK in my opinion you can find most of the tutorials online. The important part is knowing what to do when... For example I will give you 3 links for retouching skin but if you don't know when to use what the results won't look high end. I would recommend to do as gamedonechanged says and visit the forums... search for workflow topics to get an idea of where and when are things done.

Links I said about
Degrunge technique for softening skin
http://retouchpro.com/tutorials/?m=show&id=213
Dodge & Burn technique for correcting skin
http://retouchpro.com/tutorials/?m=show&id=272
The apply image technique (replaces the use of highpass in the degrunge technique, but works for everything you use the highpass filter for)

Re: NEWBIE:Best tutorials for industrial retouchin

Hello Jpk and welcome to Retouchpro!

Run a search in the "photo retouching" forum for "d&b" (dodge and burn).
You'll find TONS of information... Of course, you'll need the time and patience to read through everything and experiment!!!

Dodge means to lighten pixels while burn means to darken. Instead of blurring imperfections/spots (a big no-no in high-end retouching), d&b gives us the ability to clean the skin while leaving the texture/pores intact, thus providing a very natural effect (however, VERY time consuming). Of course, this method is combined with your basic healing and or clone tool for zits/moles (which is done first).

d&b may be done by using two methods:

1.curves

2. soft light layer with 50% gray fill

Once you get the hang of things, post your work ask questions!!! If you have any questions now, I'd be happy to reply!
