Re: Removing face shodows

Assuming you want to leave at least some shadow. You might want to try cloning tool as in the attachment - of course you will take a little more care than I did

Re: Removing face shodows

I copied the layer and used the quick selection tool in photoshop to select the shadow. I then used a curves adjustment layer to lighten up the selected shadowed area

Welcome to RetouchPRO Hope you enjoy your stay here and make lots of friends. Poke around, ask questions, offer help, have fun!

It always helps if you could please attach an under 100K version (so the thread remains useful in the future, regardless of external links).

If you use Photoshop you can post fairly large pictures which are under 100k using the 'save for web' function in Photoshop as described here: Size, Quality and/or Format your Attached Images.. (Click here)

How to attach Files/Images to your Posts or Threads: (Click here)

A little D&B (Dodge and Burn) along with some minor healing or cloning might help

(After clicking the Thumbnail, Wait a couple seconds for the Gif to change)

Thanks a lot!

0lBaldy: I will use the 'save for web' function the next time and I really like the forum!

Re: Removing face shadows

Just for a chance I used the new contact aware function in CS5 as a brush to lighten the shadow. I started from the outside of the shadow towards the sun glasses. It went quickly if not 100% effective. I then used the normal healing brush to smooth things out.

I couldn't help myself as I darkened the sky and lightened the model.
