trying for grunge or Dargan effect

I have been working on a photo of a lady and her cat, trying to get a grunge effect. First I switched her eyes with the eyes of her cat and then used the smudge tool to make some vampire teeth. I am hoping I can get some of you folks to play with this and do something like the Dragan or grunge effect.

thanks

Dak

I like the eye switch. The teeth are nice, but you stretched the wrong one on her right. The canine is the next one out.

Hi Dak, I straightened the image, Grunged the cat a bit, vampired the lady some by doing the teeth and lightening and smoothing the skin, gave her the cat eyes to keep continuity with all the yellow and gold working in the picture, darkened some of the highlights in the background

On the Second one I just used an action "Richard Houtby Dragan Effect",

The picture is not good for a dragan or grunge effect.
If i wear a nice female dress it looks terrible.
If my wife will wear the same its looks beautiful.

You have to choose the right picture for the right effect.

Well, Calvin may be right about this picture not being suitable for the grunge effect. I appreciate the Richard Houtby action OlBaldy. I will try that on some other images and perhaps learn some techniques from it.

I believe you got me on those teerh, Panpan...thanks..

Re: trying for grunge or Dargan effect

I've had a quick go at trying to make this pic "grunge" (albeit I am not quite sure what that means).

There is a blue channel darkened with levels set as layer in multiply mode, a high pass layer in overlay mode for sharpening, an HSL adjustememt layer and a bit of local contrast enhancement with the free plugin Multiple Histogram Equalization from Belousov.

This was an interesting challenge. I agree with CalvinHollywood about the right pic for the right treatment. So.... I tried to age the woman w/wrinkles & so forth. Well, I don't think I did a very good job but it's something that needs practice...and I just might do that. It seems strange to spend so much time removing wrinkles then switch to adding them. Most everything is dodge & burn followed by a Draganizer action which was, "... developed by ideas presented on the DPReview Forum. Credit for the action goes to the many who contributed."
