How to fix reddish skin color around eyes?
I normally read/search to find what I need, but this problem is tough to search on. I've searched on red eyes, and, naturally, all I get is red eye reduction info. However, as you can see the issue is reddish eyes. The example isn't a great photo--somewhat blurred due to shooting in low light, however it shows the problem--some of the members of my family have mis-coloration around their eyes. How would you take this out?
TIA for your help.
Re: How to fix reddish skin color around eyes?
Dan, add a Selective Color adjustment layer. In the Red channel (comes up as default) drag the magenta slider to the left to reduce the red/magenta (~-33) and drag the Yellow slider to the right (~+22) to correct the overall skin color. Normally that is all you would need but this photo has a strong dose of magenta on her right eye. So don't click OK yet. Select the Magenta channel from the pull down menu and drage the Magenta slider all the way to -100. You could also raise the Yellow slider up a little a s well.
After shifting the Red/Magenta toward yellow I found the image over saturated so I added a hue/sat layer ands reduced overall sat by 10%.
