Tonal range on legs? How to fix.

So I constantly keep having this problem of not being able to figure out how to fix tonal ranges on backs of legs. I want a even range of tones down the side of the leg. I tried doing the D&B technique as well painting on the highlights. It looks soft and not real. Any advice would be awesome.

Check out this thread: http://www.modelmayhem.com/po.php?thread_id=439098
Along with some dodge & burn (which I did not use in the attached example), it could be a quick and easy way to fix those tones :-)

Btw. took me about 10 seconds (using actions). That's what I call quick

Very nice. It would be even better if you either tanned the buttocks or untanned the legs.

Did you read the link I posted?

Create the split as described in the first post, delete the low pass layer, invert the high pass layer and blur it with the radius you feel looks good.

Yes I read it, but if i delete the low pass layer i lost the image. I think there is something i don´t understand.

Re: Tonal range on legs? How to fix.

So you duplicated the background layer three times, applied blur to the middle layer and subtracted/added the top layer?
That should keep the original intact.

I'll upload some action later if you're still encountering problems

My action make a new document with only two layers: the low frequency and the high frequencie. If you have a diferent action, please put a link.
Thanks

Re: Tonal range on legs? How to fix.

I created my own actions, so they probably will be different (it creates layers).
