First you need to understand that what makes this images is not just retouching.

This photographer is one of my personal favorites he is a GREAT photographer.

When you start with good light, the rest is not so complicated.

Having said that, there's another thing you need to realize second.

Smooth tones has nothing to do with smooth texture or smooth "look"

This images have a lot of detail work (+10 hours) on texture, the tones are even but not monotone or dull.

Even tones also takes time (depending on the original image you start with)

Then it's up to the raw file and the conversion. If you use Capture one +contrast and - saturation is going to give you a good starting point, but then if you want results like these you need to be patient.

xx

Hi

Godmother has given you the advice, reduce the saturation in ACr try the dynamic slider -50, but it depends on the Picture...and increase the contrast..

You are completely right there! + Erwin Olaf is an amazing photographer, a girlfriend of mine modeled once for him.

Re: How to get such skin color?

The texture and everything is a whole different story... but the color, try this.

Hue/Sat on overlay -60 (ish) sat, +20 (ish) lightness
Hue/Sat on SoftLight -90 (ish) sat, +20 (ish) lightness

Then use a curve to adjust the tone of the skin to something that pleases your eye. or use an eyedropper to pick a color that you like and adjust it to that. Erwin is a great photographer, but he's also quite creative in his use of post. Magic still does most of his stuff together with Eclipse (who is an ex Magic guy). Very good stuff.

Re: How to get such skin color?

It can be (as stated above) Many hours of very detailed work on the image. You might also go to www.kelbytraining.com and subscribe for a month or two. Go into the online tutorial section and find some beginner Photoshop tutorials. Even the beginner level (which is where to start) will give you the idea of what it will take to get those tones.

Also, you will need to develop your eye to know when you are in the right direction...

I agree. Especially with good base image and time of retouch.
It's hard to explain it in terms like; move slider here or there and you got the effect.

Re: How to get such skin color?

OK, soon one day i will work on good lighting shots, with someone [if not model] of good detail face, but i want to see what photoshopper can do for those kind of good lighting composed shots, i am trying to do this kind of skin tones, i got something else which i really like but still not something as those but sometimes closer but not exact.

Re: How to get such skin color?

It's look like a paint...
le render remeber david lachapelle pic (deluge) :
http://medias.photo.fr/medias-factor...1/130/logo.jpg

BUT It"s as to guess with what ingredient is made a good cakes just by tasting it...
you can get closer... but the base of this render is on the photoshoot : lightset, the shine of the skin and the model's original skintone...
the retoucher's work on this base to balance the skin tone.
