How to get this color mood result?

I'm trying to get the exactly result but still couldn't get it right (using hue desaturated and played with color balance)

Does anyone know how to get EXACTLY the same color result in Photoshop?

Re: How to get this color mood result?

try this :

- desaturated
- add solid color layer adjustment with this color code : 1f0019 blending mode EXCLUSION
- add more contrast
- add photo filter YELLOW around 40% - 50%

i hope it close to what you looking for.

Re: How to get this color mood result?

Here's the result that I did, yellow photo filter didn't give the similar color effect so I used orange 41% instead. I increased contrast and add noise to give more depth/contrast and to increased color richer/better...

Does anyone can comment if it gets the right mood for it or not at all?

It's a duotone. Choose yellow for your highlight color and a purple-blue for your shadow color.

Re: How to get this color mood result?

I'd recommend a gradient layer for toning by far over duotone. Duotone is a recipe for layering inks in an offset process to enhance perceived dynamic range and is limited to 8 bit values. Gradients provide a much wider range of possibilities and allows for a 16-bit workflow throughout.

Luke, you got me. You're correct. I'm getting duotone proper mixed up with the duotoning feature from camera raw.

Yes gradient layer and then you have even more control over the final result.

What is the exact step in PS to proceed using gradient layer instead?
Don't you need to apply solid color too?
