Is this some form of HDR?

If you click to full size the first 4 new Sony Bravia 3D TV ads in this line up you can see some kind of HDR technique. I am not a photographer nor a retoucher but I am curious as to what you guys think this style is. Is it easy to duplicate?

Keep in mind as they add ads to this page, these 4 will be shuffled down the line.

Re: Is this some form of HDR?

Hi
I am sure its not HDR
You think its HDR cause you notice more details that you see when you look at a person "real life".
The lighting is very important for this kind of pictures (hard lights from the back).
I dont see a superspecial technique here in photoshop.
You can try my tutorial for getting details if you like (its for free)

Re: Is this some form of HDR?

Thank you Calvin. I do see some type of manipulation here, maybe not HDR.
I visit this site once in a while because as an art director I truly admire the work done by great retouchers and photographers and I find very knowledgeable and talented people here, like yourself. Learning is constant and never ending!

If you look at the work on his personal website under the "After the Riots" link, his style is even more evident and interesting. http://www.morgansilk.com/usa/
