Blockbuster look ? Color grading ?

Hi,

For a while now I follow the work of this photographer and I really like the treatments he do on his pictures.

Does anyone have an idea how to achieve that kind of "movie like" look ?

Hello- to tell you the truth- the only "movie" effect I see is the black letter box top and bottom.
If you crop out those letter boxes it just seems like a normal image- a nice set of images but I'm not sure about a "Movie Effect"
Could you explain the term?

I do see that the shadows of the backgrounds seem a bit light.
The shadows- I mean darker tones- of the figures seem to have a bit more density- making them "pop"

Are these actually photos, or maybe video captures from the actual film/video. Isn't everything shot digital now days?

Almost looks like CGI, particularly the last two photos. Sort of like the artwork for Half-Life 2.

Accurate focusing. Shallow depth of field. Sharpening of main subject, blurring of background. Can't see anything that particularly marks this as a movie look, though.
