good skin retouching formula wanted
I have little experience in skin retouching and would like to improve. I have been using the dodge tool at 2% (burn just seems to blacken skin tones so Ive avoided it) aswell as clone stamp set to lighten/darken on a hardness of 85%. Would anyone be willing to share their formula for skin retouching as I would like to refine my technique.
Re: good skin retouching formula wanted
There's not one recipe for skin, there's literally billions ;-).
But probably, you'll need the healing brush and clone stamp tool along the way, as well as dodge & burn tools and maybe a frequency separated image (http://www.modelmayhem.com/po.php?thread_id=439098).
Clone and heal on the high pass layer only to fix the texture, use dodge & burn as well as inverted high pass to get the tonality right and maybe use Hue/Saturation, Curves, Gradiant Maps, Selective Color etc. to get the tones more equal.
Most of the recipes which result in nice images also involve lots of time, so don't try alternative routes that'll later cost you even more time to fix.
