Re: Help plz - trying for vintage/cross-processed

Hi..... First I used the cross processing in Nik Color Efex Pro and then I added a little noise and then I went into hue & saturation in Photoshop and colorized the image sepia and lowered the opacity of that lower 50%.

Re: Help plz - trying for vintage/cross-processed

I'm going to try a couple of versions here, but IMHO, vintage doesn't look quite right because of the elements of this portrait, like cloth and shoes are not compatible, they look too modern, anyways here is my try. I also did a modern version by boosting colors and I believe that one looks much better, although I had to smaller, so I could upload it here.

I definitely would... if I had properly taken notes. I use gimp and I apparently didn't record my step by step in a text file.

More or less, though, this is what I did:

I created a duplicate layer of the original image. To the duplicate, I set the curves approximately like shown in my attached image.
I set the blend mode to color and merged the two layers.
I duplicated this new layer, running the highpass filter on the top layer, setting its blend mode to grain merge at 50 percent opacity. I merged these layers and brought down the saturation by about 30 percent. Again, this new layer was duplicated. I created a slight S in another curves adjustment and set the layer's blend mode to value at 100% opacity.
Then, I just created a not-so-heavy vignette.
In trying to duplicate what I had posted earlier, I found I had to do a lot of minor adjustments to color balance and curves. This will be a lesson to me not to misplace my work steps!
