Scanner info-need to convert negatives

I have quiet a few negatives I need to transfer to positive. The scanner I have is an Epson 4490, it works well, but I need to scan some larger negatives than it's capability. Any reasonably priced scanner info would be appreciated. Thanks, Tony

Re: Scanner info-need to convert negatives

On converting negatives.
Are they Black and White?.

This works for me and works extremely well.
Take a RAW photo of the negative over a light box.
Convert the negative to positive in PS Elements or Gimp.
Do all your editing, then convert to black and white.
Finally if you need convert or "save as" whatever format you need.
