Critique my first Fashion Retouch please This is my first real attempt at retouching a fashion shot...it was allot of fun using the split frequency technique and I quickly realized how important it is to master D&B. I look forward to the comments. Cheers, Darren ....for a larger view you can check it out >>here<<

Re: Critique my first Fashion Retouch please Pretty good. The only thing I would fix is the glare on the lips... especially the top lip. It seems a bit distracting. I'd decrease it a bit. Great job on the D&B technique to remove the scar on the face.

Re: Critique my first Fashion Retouch please I agree with Freddie about the reflections and there also seems to be noise in the skin area or maybe you sharpened the skin area too much and showed to much texture, not sure... the skin needs a little more smoothing. There is also a patch of skin above the nose between the eyebrows that doesn't blend into the rest of the skin. It is very slightly darker.

Re: Critique my first Fashion Retouch please Thanks for the feedback guys, I was happy to hear this from the photographer (Chanel Rene) "Looks awesome! Feel free to use [it]"...One small step :P... Anyways, I too found the lip reflections a bit distracting but I just wasn't sure what to do with them...I'll try reducing them. As for the skin sharpness, to be honest I didn't do the slightest bit of sharpening on her skin, the model has insanely textured pores and in the high res original/processed version I'm sure that you would catch that (I'll provide a close up screen cap later today). In this case though, I agree that her skin might have "too much" texture so what would you guys do about toning down the texture on her pores, if you would tone down the texture? The last thing I want to do is skin blur, I realize that's amateur and I personally hate the look of blurred skin...unless it's for fun image manipulation but definitely not retouching. Thanks again for the feedback, I'll make the changes and repost later today.

| Re: Critique my first Fashion Retouch please Here's the changes, sorry it took so long, I've been pretty busy these days. What do you think? nobody mentioned anything about the saturation but when I went back to it and compared it to the original I felt that the saturation was distracting, I matched it back to the original saturation in this version.
