| healing with low and hight layers Hello all, this is my first post and I´m happy to discover this site thanks to Calvin Hollywood. I´m a photographer and I like retouch very much. Sorry for my English, I´m from spain and I can´t speak english very well. So, I bought reciently the Natalia Taffarel´s DVD, It´s awsome. She teaches to heal whith low and hight layers. first you have to stamp all layers, and duplicate, then apply gaussian blur to the "low layer" and for the second one you have to go to "image--->aply image" and set : layer: the blured layer invert:uncheck blending: substract scale:2 offset : 128 THESE PARAMETERS ARE ONLY FOR 8 BIT IMAGES. And now you have to set for the hight layer linear light blending mode. so now you can heal in that layer and you are going to change only the texture, not the tone or light. But when you are near of an edge I realize that it actually copy tone and light. ¿Does someone know a way to do it better in the edges? thank you all Last edited by german_arce; 10-26-2010 at 05:51 AM. | Re: healing with low and hight layers You can find a lot more information by researching "Frequency separation" "High Pass Sucks" You ARE also sampling tones and luminocity, just very little because of the nature of the healing brush. When working on edges you might find it useful to use the clone tool on the HIGH in lighten or darken (depending on what you want to get rid of) Try that And thanks btw x |
