Poreless Skin/'Fashion' Retouching

I'm trying to achieve what I'd deem to be a very typical 'editorial' look, with regard to skin detail.

Instead of posting a bunch of reference images, I think this one accurately conveys the 'porelessness' I'm after.

If anyone could point me in the right direction, that'd be awesome.

Obviously maintaining detail is not a primary concern. By the looks of things, I need to remove it completely :/

Re: Poreless Skin/'Fashion' Retouching

Hi colorspace,
I'm not entirely what you're referring to. The samples provided are too small to see any skin detail. A pore would be of subpixel scale on images like these so I can't infer the degree of skin retouching here.

It's highly unlikely that a magazine would run editorial images of this quality where poor workmanship has resulted in plastic porelessness.

Perhaps what you're really seeing is the characteristic "hard-soft" light of gridded soxtboxes and large beauty dishes which while producing well-defined shadows also create very smooth skin tones with little specular reflection.

This

And I think the OP is confused. I'm sure those images have a lot of skin detail only really smooth transitions between shadow and light.

Smoothing pores out != Smooth skin
