Re: How to remove annoying magenta cast

i recalibrated my monitor.

i tried to have the background set a neutral, i clicked on the value 200, 200, 201

but then the face looks magenta and the cardigan grey looks greenish :

here is the adobe rgb 1998 version :

and here is the sRGB IEC61966-2.1 Version

http://fashionbug.org.uk/color_corre...EC61966-21.jpg

i begin to believe that it is hopeless.

What do you guys think ?

this one is on setting the grey point on the cardigan :

this time the whole image is blueish and greyish.

Very similar, I prefer the one before this but its a judgment call. I prefer the skin tones a tad more, the bkgnd looks more neutral.

Re: How to remove annoying magenta cast

I agree with AndrewRodney looks good to me too!

It appears you want the background to stay grey and the cardigan is also supposed to be grey.

Had a try with curves to get the cardigan towards neutral and still maintain the background neutrality and the flesh tones. If you want to try this way you will need to lock down the curves around the point you are shifting for each channel RGB.

My attempt has lost a little in translation to save for web but the cardigan is at least neutral. Also a loss of contrast noticed on this version (not apparent at the time of saving). Anyway hopte it may be of some help

However I much prefer the warmth of your original image.

EDIT: I was a bit slow here you have both replied before I pressed submit !

Me too. And how easy a “fix” (actually its just the “correct“ rendering, nothing to fix).

Re: How to remove annoying magenta cast

FWIW, the image is in aRGB. Here's a screen grab of it (converted to sRGB) in recent editions of, from left to right: PS, Safari, Firefox, Chrome.

However well these browsers may perform on some online tests, Safari is the only one I trust in real world use.

Sorry for the threadjack, just processing my raw emotions.

I hate color management!!!
