New Fashion Retouch Tutorial

Happy New Year to everyone on RetouchPro!

I've posted a couple of fashion portrait retouching tutorials on my blog and I'm inviting you to take a look! Hopefully you will learn a thing or two, or be able to provide me some feedback to improve my own retouching.

They mainly consist of me turning on and off layers, explaining the steps involved in taking an average looking image and making it much better. For those of you expecting a live retouch, please be patient! I will post some in early 2011.

Cheers to all!

Re: New Fashion Retouch Tutorial

Hi Joel, I watched the second one, and some of the first.
I like your end result (your process is about a million miles from how I'd get there though!)
I always find it interesting to watch others and hear their thought processes.

As for the video production itself, to make it better, I think you could spend more time reviewing the file beforehand and planning/preparing how your going to present the content, remove unused layers, label your layers, turn layer visibility inside groups off. This way, when the camera is rolling, you'll start at the bottom and work your way up without spending your time trying to decipher your own work

Now, I've never made a tutorial, so you may choose to ignore my comments!

Good luck and looking forward to more/better tutorials.

Re: New Fashion Retouch Tutorial

Interesting vid and a nice job. I have never worked on glamour pix so it was very informative to see what you snappers look for in a good model shot. IMO it works better when you stay in zoom so that subtle changes can be seen clearly. Switching between 'before' and 'after' views after achieving the desired effect, whilst reiterating what we are looking for, also helps a lot.
