Retouch Critique?

So this one took me way longer than it actually needed to. I am trying out different techniques by following tutorials. This one was pretty tedious just because she had some bad sun damage to the forehead. Other than that it was a lot of fun!

Very impressive Jessica. You do great skin and you tackle the hair which I notice a lot of people avoid. To nitpick; the eyeballs don't work for me and a small area of hair above the left ear lacks finesse. That said I don't think you'll have any problems finding appreciative clients. Well done you!

Re: Retouch Critique?

thank you! yes the hair was quite an annoyance... Finding the right flow and weight was tricky. the EYES! ugh i wanted to go for the halo reflection but i didn't do too much research on how light actually falls on the face and in the pupil. but it was worth a try. thank you for the kind words =D

I'll go right along with repairman, hair and skin are great, and I don't particulaly care for the eyes in this photo - makes her look witchy- she is way to pretty for those eyes -I would go back the the original catch-lights..

Re: Retouch Critique?

Sure! this one in particular was a tad different than how I would normally retouch... I was following this tutorial: http://allaboutorlando.deviantart.co...ites/#/d2ggi6c which is pretty tedious but the effects are extremely natural. I mostly use the Patch and healing tools and just sample many different skin textures to get the desired texture.

Perhaps I should make a tutorial myself! =D
