Veins on Legs

Hello, does anyone have any other good ways of reducing veins on thin skin? I am working on a model that always has veins showing in her legs when she is cold. She must have thin skin. I have used the method of creating three layers. The top layer is set to overlay and you do a high pass filter on it. The layer below that is a surface blur set to either soft light or just lessen the opacity and then the third layer is the original. Does anyone have any other suggestions or techniques of reducing veins in skin?

Re: Veins on Legs

Not sure if it applies to your pic (can't see the detail clearly) but I airbrush mask over the veins following the general pattern. Then move the resulting selection to the adjacent clear skin area. Cut out the new selected area, reposition and paste over the veins at an opacity light enough to cover the vein. It may require quite a few patches. This is case dependent but works more often than not.

How about a simple Hue/Sat adj layer as attached.

Inverted high pass technique? I can't find the specific link at the moment, but basically invert the high pass layer and blur by a 1/3 of the high pass. Gets rid of corn beef skin a treat!
