What's the longest you spent on a picture?

As the title says, I am just curious what the longest time you spent on a picture is. I don't mean manipulations here, just hair, skin, background extraction etc. . I am just starting out and I feel I am kind of too slow, I do need to optimize my workflow a bit, spend less time making decisions and generally settle into a routine only experience can offer. But I am just curious what's the longest a pro has spent on a picture.

Thank you

I've spend 5 days for a test project for taylorjames. It was a composition of 8 images with color correction and rebuilding of the scent. But usually images take me not more than 40 minutes.

Re: What's the longest you spent on a picture?

In one sitting, a poster for Lucky Strike cigarettes once took me 24 solid hours. The art director sat by my side the whole time as I cut and pasted, montaged and blended loads of elements. You'll speed up as you go along because you eliminate the 'what if' scenarios.
Everyone is different and maybe someone will be faster but not so picky with the detail so go easy on yourself.

It depends entirely on what you're doing and what the end goal is.

My 'initial retouch' on most shots is a couple minutes. Depending on what it is for however, several hours isn't uncommon, but it could be as much as a couple days (not straight).

The longest? Around 200 hours on a major restoration. For retouching, probably 15 hours or so.
