Re: Demystification of Mert & Marcus

Good information here guys...I've taken some suggestions and applied them, especially the localized color and tonal adjustments. I've included a link to a before / after photo that I shot last night, and edited today (and no, it's not a real Vogue cover obviously, but thought I would throw in a disclaimer for those of you who are on their 4th beer).

Re: Demystification of Mert & Marcus

That's pretty cool. The use of the fake vogue graphic is a bit tacky even if you were attempting to emulate that.

I think that photo itself has better potential than the photoshop work is giving it though

Was it unfinished/quickly done? You've posted much more refined work in that regard before.

Re: Demystification of Mert & Marcus

Hey Kav

Thanks for the reply / critique. Yes, the 'Vogue' graphic was an afterthought, obviously just a tongue in cheek kind of addition.

At the risk of turning this thread into a discussion about one of my own photographs, perhaps you could briefly explain (either via thread or PM) what you would have augmented. Other work I have posted on this forum have been beauty shots...Requiring another level of retouching altogether.

Re: Demystification of Mert & Marcus

Exhuming my thread for Halloween (ok one day later)... Thought this little old easy-to-find article might be of interest to readers...Also, maybe someone might have some new information? (Mert and Marcus, if you're Googling yourselves and stumble on this thread, please feel free to jump in the conversation or hire me - even as a studio bitch - while you're at it).
