hair advice needed

I have few images with hair like attached sample shows. The only one option is long cloning tool work? Maybe there's some faster [it doesn't need to be high end] way to get nice hair?

Re: hair advice needed

It is also easy to make a quick hair brush and add some dark, medium, light strokes...just takes a few seconds.

Re: hair advice needed

Zoom in a little

Fill a blank layer with white

Get a hard black brush and make a some dots maybe 7 to 10..no pattern necessary fairly close together.

Now make a selection around the dots and make a brush.

Delete the layer

In the brush engine change the spacing to 1

Transfer to 250 or so...up to you

Ready to go...#11 is the brush I made and I used.

Start with dark and on different layers use lighter colors...then with a single round brush on pen pressure draw a few stray hairs.

Re: hair advice needed

lol... In the brush engine CS5 click on transfer and set to fade then 250. The reason I used 250 is only to get the stroke to cover the area I want and fade to nothing. Different areas will require different fade amounts.

I keep opacity and flow at 100 percent.

Give me a minute and i will try and find a link to a tutorial by Bert Monroy.

Butch
here butchy! oh sorry. lol

I cheated and made a copy of your #11 brush then pasted it on a layer and turned it to a smart object. Then I enlarged it and made a new blank layer above it so I could put my brush marks in the exact same space as yours. Then made my brush. It's Brilliant! Can't wait to see the tute. Thanks for going through the trouble.

Re: hair advice needed

Wow, spectacular video Butch, thank you for teaching me something new. I see that Bert used 800 fade but I like your 250 better.

Re: hair advice needed

I would use frequency separation & copy/paste samples from the high frequency layer.
