Re: Some Images to mess about with!

Der_W is correct, it will create a result like 100% USM if you just use Gaussian Blur and a split and nothing else (and Linear Light blend mode).

My actions does also remove the color from the sharpening (hf) layer. Reduce opacity or set blending to Soft Light or Overlay for a weaker effect (and slightly different if you change the blending). To make it stronger, clip on a curves layer and increase contrast to taste (keep the middle point 128,128).

Re: Some Images to mess about with!

Ok! So thank you all for your tips I really appreciate all of your input I have learned so much. Sooo I had a go at another one of the photos I didn't do anything too dramatic but it was fun. I did notice a few spots that could be improved after posting but over all I am pretty happy with the way it turned out.

You seem to be improving every day, keep up the good work

Ps: there were some obvious patches of repeating skin texture on her forehead.

Ty Chain! I intend too. Thank you again for all the help. I see the patches now. I actually was bothered by the light spot by her ear xD

Re: Some Images to mess about with!

Hi,

thanks for the challenge, here's what I came up with (about 2h work):
A larger, less compressed version

Somehow, I found the dress strap a bit bothersome and attempted to remove it. Not quite done with that, but I ran out of time (for now)...
