Near impossible to improve (Camera Flash)

Hi!
I am new at this, but I was wondering if it is completely impossible to improve the picture quality of this image? The flash was accidentally on, but I need to be able to fix it. Is it possible or would it be too difficult?

Thanks,

All the best,
Alex

Re: Near impossible to improve (Camera Flash)

I put it into camera raw and did some color adjusting and did some more in Photoshop quickly. Here is a smaller version of what I did. If you want the larger one contact me with a private message and your email address.

Re: Near impossible to improve (Camera Flash)

Hi Alex

Welcome to Retouch Pro

A levels adjustment will go a long way to fixing this

White point – Teeth
Black Point – Bottom Left Corner
Mid Point – Girls pocket.

The eyes need painting to reduce the red eye, and a little colouring.

Hope this helps

Regards

Ken

If it is possible or not will depend on what software you are using .. if you can do a good levels adjustment, adjust colors and paint the eyes and highlights on separate layers then maybe.... depending on your experience

Re: Near impossible to improve (Camera Flash)

How nice to see that with bad result out of the camera people are able to turn it to nice acceptable result by photoshop or those editing softwares, i really want to believe that gear doesn't matter, but now i believe that there is nothing matter as a separated factor, i mean my talent is not the only matter or the most, also the camera itself is not the only matter, and workflow can do wonders these days as i can see, so all factors can have a certain percentage of the overall quality of the photo/image.

Mostly curves. Color correction with curves layer in color mode. Background selected and neutralized with hue/sat layer. Manual work on the eyes (curves, brush). [Thinking: Should hit the guy with some desat to tone down the albino effect.]
