Fixing belly bulge

Here's a young guy wearing a sport jacket and tie.
Another version of him reclining. See attached.
Angle is frontal.
I've seen fixes using the liquify tool but this frontal angle poses different challenges.
Can somebody give me the rundown on trimming him down?
Thanks,
Bob

Re: Fixing belly bulge

Well I didn't do much. Using the clone took I extended the crease from left to right across the bulge. Then I darkened the light area where the tummy bulge is.

Re: Fixing belly bulge

I have approached this problem in a couple of ways: First I will try Dodge & Burn on a separate layer. Dodging the dark creases, folds, the dark bulging areas. Also I do a split frequency sometimes and paint over the dark areas on a clipped layer to the Low frequency layer. You can also dodge and burn on the split frequency layers.

Re: Fixing belly bulge

Black shirt fellow - make a soft edge selection of the greater belly area and use spherize (under Filter - Distortion). Adjust to taste. Lessen the shadow between shirt and trousers by patching 50% opacity of the 'tidy' shirt area over the deep shadow. Then straighten his fly and hide the zip. Use the flat trouser material to cover the deep creases on the left side and remove or straighten the belt loops. Bit of lighting to match up and job done.

Re: Fixing belly bulge

Thanks. Will try both techniques. I've heard of a 'pucker' selection under the Liquify filter and will try that on the belly of the sitting on the floor shot.
