Kristof Verschueren style

I apologize if this as already been asked but I was wondering if anyone here can give me advice, tips, or a tutorial on exactly how to create a Kristof Verschueren style photo. I have been extremely interested in these high contrast almost painted like photos for some time now and I just can't get the full concept. I'm close but still so far away and I don't know what I'm missing. Do I need to dodge/burn more? Do I need to play w/ the contrast a bit more? I'm sure some one here can point me into the right direction here seeing how the retouchers here are so amazing! I hope to hear from some one soon!

Looks like some lights, HDR and alot of blur.

Have you seen any of them?

I looked through and tried all of his videos but non of them helped me to get to the extreme of his final photos. Using his technique is where as far as I did w/ the photo I posted on here w/ a few of my own techniques.
