Cool Basic Cropping Question

Hey everyone!

As you can tell from my username, I am new to photography and editing. I was wondering if anyone could give me some basic help or advice. I have a great photo, but I would like to crop a bit of the background out to make it less distracting on the subject, with a bit of the building still on show. However, when I try to crop the image, I find that the quality of the image is not good at all and pretty blurry. I was wondering if anyone could give me any suggestions or online editing sites, where I can crop the image without taking away the quality.

I have attatched the link to the main size original photo:

Thanks in advance

Re: Basic Cropping Question

What tool are you using to crop? If you were using photoshop for example, you can set your resolution. If the value is too small the image would looked blurred.

Re: Basic Cropping Question

Gimp.org (Open Source (free), popular); Sumopaint (in Browser, other to); Pixelator (cost but not much $50?), Photoshop Elements ($100?), theres others, can't think of them right now..

theres a site called Alternative.com or something, I think.
