Critiques please..

This is my first post on here and I'm a little nervous. lol
I have been doing photo retouches nothing big for a while now and I want to expand. I personally find that pageant "glitz" photos are the hardest. Due to the fact that there is a certain look they want and its hard to capture.

I did two photos one I found on google. I chose it because every site that had it said it was the worse photo so I thought I'd give it a go.

The second is a photo I found on here or another site, and thought it was a great picture to practice on.

Let me know what you think. Please remember these are suppose to pageant glitz photos. Thank you

Too much blur they both look fake and plastic. There are a lot of great hi res practice images on this site for you to use. Just look thru the forum.

Not sure exactly what you were going for here??? Maybe I just don't know what pageant glitz photography is, but they look really fake and almost barbie doll-like. I am not saying that that is a bad thing. Maybe that is the look that you wanted. It looks almost like an illustration effect. Of the two, I think the style looks more polished on the first. The second is just a tad bit too crazy looking for my taste.

Re: Critiques please..

Why does one try to make children look like they're top models. I'd concentrate on general retouching if I were you. There is a lot of opportunity if you have a great port. Do a search on freelancing and go from there.
