Re: What do you think about this technique?

:-) yes, that's my video :-).

Probably it'd be easier if you'd refer to a specific technique that I use in the video as it's more than 1h and I don't think, everyone has the time and zest to watch it ;-).
From my own standpoint (and I didn't rewatch the whole thing) I think that I'm using some techniques, that I have updated and developed further over the time, but the principles should be fine.

Hi Der_W,

I think that you have a different approach over the treatment of color I never have seen before.
There are not too much tutorials to learn how to work with color, saturation and luminosity masks. I would like to know much more about all these things.
Do you know of goods tutorials about this?

Thanks for your tutorials, I think they are excellents.

Re: What do you think about this technique?

Actually I did these videos because I thought there were no/too few tutorials about this topic, therefore I can't really direct you to too many tutorials that will go into detail about this approach.

However you could try this link here: https://www.pmai.org/WorkArea/linkit...d&ItemID=17150 (a PDF by Chris Tarantino that shows how to use the selective color adj. layer to create saturation masks as well as some others),
http://tech-slop.serveit.org/wiki/in...Extracting_Hue (pretty technical, but it shows how to extract the hue. His third method is a little faulty though, instead of lowering the opacity you really should reduce the fill opacity)
And of course Tony Kuyper's tutorials: http://goodlight.us/writing/tutorials.html (uses for luminosity and saturation masks)

Re: What do you think about this technique?

Der W, thanks for making the video tut, I was engrossed right from the beginning and watched it all the way to the end. It looks like an incredibly precise technique. The downside of You Tube vids is that some of the work was too subtle to see, or see easily.

I've got an image on my desktop that should be ideal to try this technique out, but there's a lot in your tut - I'll have to watch it again.
