How do i retouch skincolor (Sample inside)

Hi Folks,
im learning to retouch with the D&B Methods these days. They work fine for me (2 Curve-Layers or 50% Grey-mode) at the Pixel-Level (using small brush at around 400% Zoom). But when i zoom out to retouch some bigger areas, like shadowy areas, marked red on the following picture:

I cant retouch the bigger area with the D&B Settings (it gets to bright and the color is wrong) i use for very small retouching in Macro or Pixel-Mode.

Those bigger areas have another skintone and im unsure how to fit it to the rest of the skin. Anyone knows the best methods for this? Time is not a problem i like to work long on one image so the best result has always priority for me.

Okay. Im searching around for the right help but i found no good tutorial or help about tone correction yet. They are not good for partial tone correction. I tried it with masks on the specific parts, but that doesnt fit together in the end.

I don't know what methods others use, but I generally circle a piece of the discolored area with the lasso to select it, then I create a curves adjustment layer (which will automatically mask all but my selection.) Next I adjust the curves until the discolored area matches the good neighboring tones. Finally paint in the mask all the other areas that are suffering from the same kind of discoloration. I will often have several different curves for different types of discoloration found over the face. Painting over the whole face on a very, very low opacity with a good color on color blend mode also helps to unify everything a bit more, for a face that has a lot of variation.

I found this technique in Carrie Beene tutorial here at RetouchPro. I suggest you to rent that video, it is very helpful.
